What Is Prized Paka?

The name Prized Paka - means valuable wild cat(s). It was coined in 2012, by one amazed and well satisfied client of Jacob, he together with his fellow clients, out of excitement after unforgettable scenes(finding a number of lions perched in trees and many more lying under the trees) throughout that trip.

He and Jacob call each other "paka" up to this day. This is an inspirational name and you can be rest assured that the people behind the name are committed to render to you the service that is life changing just like Mr. Steve (Paka) whose experience is always fresh in his mind and heart.

#Jacob Pallangyo | Co-Founder and Executive Director

Born and raised in Arusha, Jacob’s connection to the Tanzanian wilderness is more than professional—it’s ancestral. Before transitioning to the drawing board, Jacob spent his early career on the ground as a Mountain and Safari Guide, mastering the nuances of the terrain and the rhythms of the wildlife firsthand.

​Since 2012, Jacob has served as the Leading Chief Craftsman of Itineraries at Prized Paka Safaris. In this role, he blends his deep field experience with over a decade of logistical expertise to design bespoke adventures. Whether he is communicating in English or French, Jacob’s background in high-level business supervision ensures that every expedition is as seamless as it is breathtaking.

Tourism in Tanzania is experiencing rapid growth. At the forefront of this vibrant sector stands Prized ​Paka Safaris, where I, Gift Steven, proudly hail from the picturesque landscapes of Arusha, Tanzania. ​

With a profound dedication to the hospitality industry, I have spent the past year honing my skills in ​reservation management, paving the way for seamless and memorable travel experiences.

#Benny Mgonja | Mountain Gu​ide

With over 18 years of experience in the mountains, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise as a ​seasoned mountain guide. My journey began as a porter, evolved into a role as an assistant guide for ​three years, and I have proudly served as a chief guide for more than a decade. My extensive ​experience ensures a deep understanding of both the mountains and their environment.

I hold a college degree in wildlife studies and received specialized training with Kilimanjaro National ​Park (KINAPA) in 2012. Additionally, I have completed various First Aid courses, including:

• Mountaineering Emergency First Aid (1 week)
• Local Leader Safety Training (2 weeks)
• Tanzania Red Cross Society First Aid (2 weeks)

As your guide, my top priority is your safety, followed by ensuring you enjoy the mountain experience ​to the fullest. With my extensive knowledge and dedication, you can expect not only a safe journey but ​also an enriching adventure that culminates in a joyful summit and a secure return.

I hold specialized qualifications, including Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, which ​enhances my ability to manage emergencies and provide top-notch care in remote settings. My skills ​and experience ensure a well-organized and strategically planned climb, allowing you to focus on ​reaching your peak while feeling confident and secure throughout the journey.
